Common questions
Heat pump or air conditioner — which should I get?
Simple rule: if you have a gas furnace, we recommend an AC. If you have an air handler, a heat pump is the better fit. In our area gas is much cheaper than electricity, so a gas furnace heats your home faster and for less money than a heat pump — pairing it with an AC gives you the best of both.
Will AC work with my existing furnace?
Usually yes — most forced-air furnaces can have a cooling coil added. We inspect your furnace and equipment first and tell you honestly if anything needs upgrading.
Do I need a new coil?
Often, yes. New AC and heat pump units run on a new refrigerant and only accept that refrigerant, so an older coil designed for the old refrigerant usually has to be removed and replaced with a matching one. We include the coil in your quote so there are no surprises.
How long does installation take?
A typical AC or heat pump installation takes just one day.
